What I love most about Aylward is the sense of community we build from the very start of you joining our Aylward family.

On behalf of the staff, children, parents and governors, I am delighted to welcome you to Aylward Primary School.

At Aylward, we believe every child should feel valued, inspired and empowered to achieve their very best. We are proud to be a welcoming and inclusive school community where children are encouraged to be ambitious, develop confidence in themselves and discover their individual strengths and talents.

Our aim is not simply to educate children academically, but to provide experiences that broaden horizons, spark curiosity and prepare children for life beyond primary school. We want our children to leave Aylward as resilient, thoughtful and compassionate young people with a love of learning and the confidence to embrace future opportunities.

We recognise that children flourish when they feel safe, happy and supported. Therefore, alongside delivering a broad, ambitious and engaging curriculum, we place great importance on wellbeing, inclusion and ensuring that every child feels a strong sense of belonging. At Aylward, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Through enrichment opportunities, clubs, educational visits, wider experiences and leadership opportunities, we aim to ignite passions, develop talents and create lasting memories. We have high expectations for all members of our community and believe that challenge, encouragement and support help children to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Strong relationships sit at the heart of everything we do. We value the partnership between home and school and believe children achieve their greatest success when families and staff work together.
