Aylward's Activity Passport

At Aylward, we believe that every child should be inspired by their learning and encouraged to discover new interests, develop their confidence and enjoy experiences that support their personal growth. Alongside our knowledge-rich curriculum, we provide opportunities for children to develop the skills, experiences and independence they need to become ‘future ready’.

As part of our wider approach to enrichment and personal development, we have our Aylward’s Activity Passport. Every child has their own passport to keep and enjoy throughout their school journey. Each year group has a list of 20 exciting activities and experiences, designed to encourage children to try new things, develop their interests and make memories along the way.

Many of the activities take place in school, while others are designed to be enjoyed at home or as a family. The activities provide opportunities for children to develop beyond the classroom, from reading for pleasure and enjoying music, drama and sport, to connecting with their local community, appreciating nature and discovering more about the world around them.

Our Activity Passport reflects our commitment to giving every child a broad range of experiences that contribute to their personal development, wellbeing and enjoyment of learning. The activities are inspired by the wider idea of providing children with memorable experiences and opportunities to discover new passions, similar to the National Trust’s ‘50 Things to do before you’re 11¾’, which we encourage families to explore.

We would love for you to celebrate your child’s experiences with us. You can share photographs of your child completing activities with their class teacher, helping us to celebrate their achievements and interests.

We hope your child has a fantastic time working through their Activity Passport, both in school and at home with you. There is no need to rush, the passport is there to be enjoyed throughout the year, and activities can be repeated as often as your child wishes. After all, there’s no such thing as too much fun!

At the end of the school year, children who have completed the activities for their year group will receive a special certificate to celebrate their achievement.
